Hi guys,

When using an e10's window on Nightly and you middle click on a link it opens a blank new tab and switches to it - but opens the link in the existing tab.

Not sure if you are aware of it.

Thanks
[bugday-20140714]

Couldn't reproduce this issue on latest nightly (buildID 20140714030201) on Win7 x86_64.

I can easily reproduce it with outlook.com emails. With e10's it loads the link in an email in the current tab and opens a blank new tab, with a non-e10's window it just opens the link in a new tab.

If it helps, I have the outlook tab pinned. I'm trying to find a page that opens links in new tabs by default, so I can test further

Sorry. It's not middle clicking the link I can reproduce, it's left clicking a link. Does the same in gmail etc. Opens blank tab, opens link in same window.

Can't repro, 33.0a1 (2014-07-20) Win 7 x64.
Please check if the issue occurs using Firefox in safe mode (with your addons disabled):
http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode

And on a new, empty profile:

Hi Paul:

Yes can reproduce on safe mode:

1. Open Outlook.com or gmail.com account
2. recieve bugmail email, daily deal email, anything which in a non-e10s window would open in a second tab
3. click on link inside
4. opens second tab which stays black but has "New tab" with underlined text
5. The outlook/gmail tab moves from outlook/gmail to bugzilla etc

A new profile fixes it.

I think the offending setting is dom.ipc.processCount - I have it set higher than 1 for stability, so all my tabs don't crash at once. If you change that setting to say 2 or 5 or 10 you can reproduce the problem but with it set to one you can't.

I understand you are aiming to ship with it set to 1, but for future reference with it set higher it does this.
Thanks Grant for clearing things up.
I confirm I can reproduce with dom.ipc.processCount=2, 33.0a1 (2014-07-20), Win 7 x64.

Aw geez, it looks like from comment 5, this bug only occurs if dom.ipc.processCount > 1.

I can't reproduce with dom.ipc.processCount set to default.

I don't think this should be M2. Am I good to remove this from the M2 list, blassey?

Middle click on link brings up blank tab. Right click on link and choose open in new tab also brings up blank tab. Clicking on saved site in Speed Dial also brings up blank tab. Running 38.0.1 on Windows XP.
WFM on Windows with dom.ipc.processCount set to 10.
Blocks: e10s-multi
This works for me as well (dom.ipc.processCount currently set to 8). Are you still able to reproduce?
