Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:30.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/30.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20140605174243

Steps to reproduce:

- start FF 30 in safe mode (to exclude add-on interference)
- (bookmarking speed ok at this point)
- enter master password
- bookmarking speed now becoming slower, increasingly so with repeated operations

Actual results:

bookmarking functions too slow to be usable:
- after setting a bookmark star takes 1-2 seconds to fly
- keyword auto-complete takes seconds
- deleting a bookmark takes seconds

Overall the bookmarking functions are so unresponsive that also other FF functions are impacted. Opening a new tab takes longer than normal.

Expected results:

On early FF versions bookmarking felt instantaneous. This, is no longer the case.
May be related to the following bugs:
- Bug 158030 - URL bar and Bookmarks tab are not getting initialized if a browser pops up on startup when "Master Password" dlg is in effect.
- Bug 975440 - Bookmarks slowly edition
- Bug 1004812 - bookmark/tag database updates are way slower
- Bug 842528 - Bookmarks tags selector listbox is slow to populate
- Bug 940289 - Bookmarks menu slow to respond on mouse over
Hi Jason, can you still replicate this?

Closing due to lack of activity. Also I can't reproduce it with any current FF version. Feel free to reopen.
