Before having a landing page and letting anyone and everyone loose with claiming the Web Literacy 'maker' badges, we need to test them!

Specifically, we need to test that the following works:

1. Applying for each badge
2. Issuing each badge
3. Badges are displayed on webmaker profiles

Maybe you could run a local Maker Party with 1-2 fellow mentors and some learners to test the flow. Could also post a CTA in Discourse to see if others are keen to test (although they'll need a script and clear instructions on what to look for and where to file bugs.)

Cool. Won't get Maker Party organised before PTO in a couple of weeks, so will work on clear instructions for Discourse. :-)

Testing is ongoing, but I think we've got enough here to see that everything's working fine. Have submitted Bug 1038313 based on Laura's feedback r.e. guidance for applicants.

Aha! I spoke too soon. Andrew Hayward found a bug!

https://webmaker.org/user/andrew/badges

He (purposely) didn't submit enough evidence for the Design & Accessibility badge. I rejected his application, but as you can see from his profile, it still shows up - just not having been issued by anyone!

Any ideas why?

I think I know what's going on, Doug. It looks like that badge (as well as a lot of other badges in the webmaker system) have no required criteria. An odd quirk of the application system is that if a badge has no required criteria, it's not actually possible to reject it (ok, "quirk" may be an understatement).

I can change their criteria to be required quite easily, but I want to make sure that's ok before I do so.

This is the case with the following badges:

search-maker
navigation-maker
web-mechanics-maker
security-maker
composing-maker
remixing-maker
design-maker
coding-maker
infrastructure-maker
sharing-maker
collaborating-maker
community-maker
privacy-maker
open-practices-maker

Ah, glad it's a known problem! Please do change those as well as credibility-maker (there's 15 in total) :-)
Done, should be working properly now.

Thanks Erik!

Now that we've tested admins issuing badges (and filed some bugs), we need to test the workflow with existing Webmaker Mentors / Super Mentors issuing badges. We'll do that from tomorrow onwards. :-)
Hey Doug, when/if you're making new badges you can also mark one of the criteria required yourself

Sorry Kate, I didn't realise that was what was making them show up on the profiles. Will do in future!
