The awesomebar is great, but could be better. Some possiblities include contextual information (geolocation, time of day, other contextual info) and possibly third-party integration as well.

To foster that, I propose that we allow the frecency algorithm to be modified or replaced outright by addons, so that the community can tune it up or extend it to better fit their needs. 

Depends on 411845 to ship, I think.

Thank you for the suggestion, but it's very complicate and we may be going a slightly different direction, we are working on a plan to provide a new scoring system where add-ons can hook into, and frecency will just be used internally for the Places provider. That plan is still being worked on, we'll file bugs when it gets approved.
