User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:32.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/32.0 Iceweasel/32.0a2 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20140621004001 Steps to reproduce: Visited https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/user_profile?login=jidanni%40jidanni.org and saw "Activity by product Firefox (678), Core (249), Toolkit (73), Tech Evangelism (58), bugzilla.mozilla.org (45), Bugzilla (40), Plugins (24), addons.mozilla.org (8), SeaMonkey (4), www.mozilla.org (2), support.mozilla.org (1), Other (3)" and got curious about my four SeaMonkey bugs. So clicked SeaMonkey, and even clicked that "(4)". Actual results: Ended up on https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=SeaMonkey Expected results: Should have ended up on a page showing my four SeaMonkey bugs. Especially if I click the "(4)"!
unfortunately this isn't currently possible to do with bugzilla's search query, and linking to a list of bug ids would result in a massive list.
(In reply to Dan Jacobson from comment #2) > 1. There, I already found two of the four already. Just link to something > like: trust me, the sql query used to generate those lists can't be expressed using bugzilla's search. i wanted to do that when i originally developed the user profile statistics but it isn't possible. > 2. for massive lists just use paging. displaying the list isn't an issue - there's a limit to the length of urls. for example i've touched 14.5k bugs in the bugzilla.mozilla.org product, which would result in a url way over the limit. don't get me wrong, i'm not against this idea however it isn't a trivial fix.
OK I just now read https://wiki.mozilla.org/BMO/User_profile_fields#Activity_by_product ... however what you have done is created an item "(4)" which the user has no way to inspect to see if it is correct or not. OK using my above link I see two of the four have to do with me being on the CC list. But the other two are as you say, inaccessible to average users... hence a source of frustration. In my case I have never used SeaMonkey in my life... Being on a Cc list makes sense because maybe part of the bug was related to my interests... however all this is just asking for trouble. Yes it is unfortunate that those queries are so long and cannot just use ..=ALL etc. Maybe bugzilla needs its own internal goo.gl!
I would like this feature too. I think we could allow the user activity report to be specific to a particular product and then link to that. > Activity by product Firefox (678), so (678) should link to this.
