Currently, the only way to close the notification pulldown tray is by dragging it using the gripper on the bottom. An usability improvement could be made by allowing the user to drag the drawer from any empty area inside it, as the drawer often has a lot of unused space. (This idea is shamelessly lifted from Android, where a change like this was made in version 4.1). I'm attaching a patch that seems to work based on quick testing, but it's my first patch to Gaia and I really have no idea what I'm doing.
