From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.4+) Gecko/20010928 BuildID: 2001092808 I don't know if this has been fixed since the specified build, and am no longer in a position to find out. When I go to a site with a Java applet, it tries to download the Java plugin. However, it cannot seem to make the necessary FTP connection--it is as if the proxy settings are ignored. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set browser to use proxy (10.6.6.1:80 for all protocols) 2. Point browser to http://javasoft.com 3. Accept when prompted to download Java Plugin. Actual Results: It tries to connect but eventually times out. Expected Results: I would have expected the Plugin to download successfully, after having set the proxy settings properly. System Info: I use the unstable Debian distribution, with 2.4.10 kernel.
Reporter: Is that a FTP Proxy ? Can you visit other FTP URLs without a problem ? If yes: We had a few FTP bug fixes in the last days, can you retest with a more recent build ?
False alarm--I have confirmed that the problem was with the proxy server.
