Details

This happens because the ids associated with headers change and the user can 
reselect the criteria but nothing changes for the filter until he saves the 
filter. 

Shutdown and restart will show the right criteria in filter Editor.
Removing will indeed show the removed header criteria in rules.dat as naving
described.

Also, depending on where in the list the custom header is removed from, the ui
will select default Subject criteria or the next custom header in the list.

New added custom header is visible when I close "Custumize Headers" window on filters combo box.
