Steps to reproduce: 1. Click a link to news://news.mozilla.org/3A5A0228.5010305%40netscape.com . Result: the URL shown in the location bar includes :119. Expected: the URL shouldn't have changed. When I encountered this, my first thought was "why did that person link to a non-standard NNTP port?"
Priority: -- → P5
Target Milestone: --- → mozilla1.0
btw: The URN "news:3bbe1b31$0$227$cc9e4d1f@news.dial.pipex.com" does not work, though this is the format specified in RFC 1738 paragraph 3.6.
Bugs targeted at mozilla1.0 without the mozilla1.0 keyword moved to mozilla1.0.1 (you can query for this string to delete spam or retrieve the list of bugs I've moved)
Target Milestone: mozilla1.0 → mozilla1.0.1
+mozilla 1.0 The news: URL usage in MailNews is a strange, non-standard hybrid of nntp: and news: Even if we do not change our internal handling, we should document the format and explain what we were thinking.
Keywords: mozilla1.0
Target Milestone: mozilla1.0.1 → Future
