User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/38.0.2099.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

Set (on Windows 7) "Use system settings" for proxy detection, then browse to any internet site


Actual results:

Unable to find the proxy server



Expected results:

Connect to proxy, download and display page

I've tried to set proxy settings to:
- no proxy -- obviously doesn't work with internet. Proxy required.
- manual proxy -- works, but forces me to switch between proxies on what server is accessed
- automatic proxy detection -- doesn't work - proxy not found message
- wpad.dat -- doesn't work - proxy not found message
- use system settings -- doesn't work if these are set to read wpad.dat,
  automatic proxy detection. Only manual proxy settings work.

Its a little bit crude: thunderbird can access the internet to fetch the headers of RSS/Atom feeds. It has problems to display the pages afterwards. Looks like there are parts working OK and others not working OK. Some parts of thunderbird respect proxy settings and use them as expected, while others dont ...!

I've tried the new build from today -- the bug is gone now!
The last one which worked was from friday, 18th July.

Was to fast -- doesn't work. It works as long, as the browser component can read the proxy config. Sometimes one component can read the proxy config, but others cant. Sometimes all components get the same browser config. Really odd.
