User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:30.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/30.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20140605174243
Steps to reproduce:
Steps to reproduce:
---------------------------------------------------
1. Install ConnectA2
2. Launch ConnectA2, and then kill it by long press HOME.
3. Reboot the device or wait some time, long press HOME. ConnectA2 is found in app list.
Actual results:
ConnectA2 start it slef via alarms, consuming lots of memory.
Expected results:
The 3rd party app should not be able to start itslef after reboot the device.
The device's platform is sp6821a and ram is 128M. Connecta2 is pre-installed as customer required. After the system boots, there is only 40+M free ram left for apps. Enter connecta2 and kill it, the app would automatically start itself periodically, leaving only 20+M ram for other apps. The system would be quite lag and other apps may crash due to lack of memory.
Hi Marvin -
Do we know about this issue? According to partner, the ConnectA2 will automatically launch again once we kill it
Thanks

Add Juanma in cc,
Hi Vance,
ConnectA2 16e already optimized to work on Tarako. We have bug 1005828 resolve and fixed which mean the app has been approved.
my guess, ConnectA2 has to work in background (listener) so be able to receives IMs anytime.

Hi Marvin -
Don't think that is the case here...what happen is when user deliberately close the connectA2, it will restart again automatically after a while...really don't think this is the desired behavior.
Hi Juanma, could you help to confirm?
Thanks
Vance

Hello Marvin/Vance,
This is the expected behavior. At the moment, FFOS doesn't have background services and it is the only way to simulate it. But don't worry, if another App is in foreground and need more memory, the OS should kill ConnectA2. The App in foreground leads.
If you want to disable background, it is possible by going to 'Config'->'Notifications in background':OFF

Hello Juanma -
OK I am still a little bit confused, so you mean as long as user has provided an account/password for login, the connectA2 will then automatically launch again, even if the user has deliberately close this app?
Thanks

Hello Vance,
Yes, ConnectA2 needs to be in background with an opened TCP socket in order to check if new messages are coming.
This is how WhatsApp protocol works in other platforms like Android and iOS. We added an option in Config menu to remove this behavior. You cannot change this behavior in Android and iOS.

Hello Juanma,
This device's ram is limited, we do not want the app launch itself automatically. Please set 'Config'->'Notifications in background' default value to ‘OFF’ to meet our requirement.

OK Hongjie. We need 1 day more for testing.

ConnectA2_V16G_RC1.zip is a technical version. Only valid for testing the solution.
We are doing the QA functional test.
