Steps to reproduce:

Install version 31.0 (via help-about of the program)


Actual results:

Filtering of the recipients not correct anymore in all headers.


Expected results:

Correct filtering as in the version 30.

Hi Wayne,
I'm french, sorry if my english is not perfect...
When i send messages I type the first letters in the appropriate field for the recipient and Thunderbird automatically shows - in alphabetical order - my contacts and groups of contacts of the address book.
This is not the case anymore : if i type an "a" for example, the program offers all names containing "a" and not those starting with "a". It's the same in all headers.
I hope i've been more specific.

Based on your description this is expected behavior, which is an intentional change from version 24. For example address autocomplete now works on domain. So if everything you have typed is in the address or contact's display name then it should be listed in the address autocomplete.

Is that what you are seeing?

Hi Wayne,
Intentional change for how much persons?
When one type "a" in the field,I think the majority wants to see whether all the names of their correspondents and groups of correspondents whose names starts with an "a", whether these names includes an "a" and not those with an "a" in their domain names !
The domain of the majority of my recipients is "skynet.be". Thus if I type "s", "sk" or even "sky", all my recipients will be shown and not my recipients with the names "sky" or "skynet" only ?!
If you intend to let it that way, I'll keep the old version.

Agreed it's a bug in that it should sort starts of names first, I intend to fix it in bug 970456. Duplicate?
