Steps to reproduce:

1. use prefferably slower PC, as it is more likely to occur
2. open a web page with a lot of heavy load, such that loads for at least 5 seconds
3. after 2,3,4 or so seconds, while the page is still loading, click on a bookmark leading to a secured website with a green bar, such as internetbanking WITHIN THE SAME TAB

Notes:
It doesnt occure when a secured page is loaded with a middle mouse button/ as a new tab.

Can be also reproduced by QUICKLY switching between the two pages with back and forward button on a mouse as well. Has to be precisely timed though, switching too quickly and it wont work, switching too slowly wont work. 

It often happens with my older (Core2duo 2,4 GHz, 2GB RAM,Win7) PC and my mom always thinks some hackers are trying to present her a phishing site into her internet banking....

I tried with 2 internetbankings, same result

The bug is presistant for over a year, probably more.

The sites that can be used as an example:

1) heavy load page:   http://www.topky.sk/
2) secured internet banking:     https://ib.slsp.sk/main/start.do


Actual results:

firefox 31 shows htttpS protocol is used, but the green bar doesnt show up, when clicking on the exclamation mark, it says the identity couldnt be verified (picture attached)


Expected results:

green bar should display

Confirmed. Just add a site with an EV certificate to the list of start-up pages, or pin it. Anytime Firefox takes a bit to load, it doesn't show the green bar. It doesn't happen every time.

Hello David. I am using Firefox 35.0.1 on Arch Linux 64-bit. It has been working like this for various months. It seems that if Firefox takes too long to start up, that some EV validation times out.
