On my MS Exchange server the "unsent messages" folder is marked as a "special" folder with Netscape 4.x but not with Mozilla. In Mozilla the "unsent messages" folder is just another folder. By special I mean a different folder icon and places above the Drafts folder. build 20011010

The "Unsent Messages" folder does use a different icon, and is placed above the "Drafts" folder. Worksforme.

I'm using a MS Exchange server and the Unsent Messages folder is shown just like a normal folder....:( build 20011014

We currently only recognize the Unsent Messages folder in Local Folders. So if you are looking at your IMAP account, it won't be special.

So is it a bug that the Unsent folder isn't special in the IMAP account?

Yes, this still happens. Using: - Cyrus IMAP server with all maiboxes under INBOX.* - new mailbox "INBOX.Unsent Messages" - collapsing and uncollapsing folders - restarting thunderbird - user_pref("mail.server.server3.using_subscription", false); - user_pref("mail.server.server3.namespace.other_users", "\"user.\""); - user_pref("mail.server.server3.namespace.personal", "\"INBOX.\""); - user_pref("mail.server.server3.namespace.public", "\"\""); Results: no special icon appears, no localisation of "Unsent Messages" and folder not sorted at top of folder list Personal thoughts: An outbox should really be a (hidden) pref per account just like the junk folder. No more hardcoded use of Local Folders for the outbox.

Magnus, aren't all unsent messages filed in "local"? I.e. there is no concept of an unsent imap folder in mozilla world? The next question is, should or does there need to be?

(In reply to comment #7) > Magnus, aren't all unsent messages filed in "local"? I.e. there is no concept > of an unsent imap folder in mozilla world? Yes, that sounds correct to me.

Comment #8 seems to imply WONTFIX or INVALID but I'm not sure.

there's been talk of having an unsent messages folders for your imap account; whether that would just be a local folder within the imap server, or a saved search over your local folders unsent messages folder, or what, we're not sure.
