Hi MJ,
Thanks for submitting this request. I want to note that I'm a bit concerned about timing, especially with the additional graphics needed for the general posts. We may need to stagger these, if they are going to be used throughout the month rather than having them all due on the same day. If you can let us know the priority level of each or the order that you were thinking of posting them, that would be great.
Thanks!

Hi Jennifer,
Peru and Spain are anticipated the first week of August, so these are highest priority on this bug.
Mexico is likely the end of August.
I hope that helps. We're tracking with the OS launch teams, and dates move around quite a bit.
The general requests on the other two bugs are in publication order, which would make them in priority order.

Thanks, MJ. Looking at the general requests, it seems like those also contain Firefox OS requests. I'm wondering if for the future, we might be able to roll all of the requests into the correct batch, rather than pulling out some Firefox OS graphics separately? What do you think?

Hi Jen,
I believe these are the only requests for August that involve specific device photos for specific countries/languages. They can potentially be similar in layout since they are targeting different audiences. The other requests have more flexibility, ie, specific devices are not required; could be illustrations.
We also don't always know the dates that the FxOS posts will be published as there seems to be quite a bit of date movement on the device launch and sale dates.
My intent was to break it up to reflect the above.
1. General social, batch 1 - dates locked
2. General social, batch 2 - dates locked
3. All needing specific FxOS device - dates sometimes squishy
If that doesn't make sense for future rounds, let me know.

Hi MJ,
Thanks for explaining. Let me think about this and get back to you on what makes sense for requesting.
I'm assigning this one over to Matt for now.

Hello Team,
Keep us posted on the Firefox OS image for the Peru Launch. If we could have that one today, that would be great.
Thanks! :)
Hi MJ, I am hoping to use the ALCATEL One Touch phone (angled version) like this: http://cl.ly/image/380D0S0v0R3h for the upcoming Peru post. Do you know if we have this same shot in Spanish?

Hi MT,
These are different devices. The Peru phone should be the AOT Fire C. The angled one above is the Fire E.

Could we try a version with both phones at the same size (even though they'd be at different scales) next to each other?

Michaela, I'd love to get your thoughts here. Originally, we were thinking of four graphics, each focusing on a city (Guadalajara, Monterrey, Mexico City and Puebla). The plan was to target the graphics to FB users in each of those cities. Here we have a graphic that captures them all. I think it works.

Sure thing! I really love the 2nd graphic, but have two comments that will likely impact the direction:
1. The 2nd graphic is very similar to the first graphic. The people seeing the 2nd graphic will have recently seen the first graphic (a day or two earlier). I'm wondering if the second graphic could have a bit more of a unique visual look and feel, in comparison to the first.
2. The 2nd graphic will end up accompanying four different social pieces of content, each targeted to one of the four cities. Due to this, I'd love to see the 2nd graphic separated into four graphics, one for each of the cities. We're seeing hyper local content do really well at the country level, and I'd love to see us do this at a city level for Mexico for optimal excitement / engagement.

Thinking of some graphics that could work for each city to provide the hyper-local angle:
Puebla has a volcano frequently shown in its photos.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Popocatepetl
Guadalajara = Mariachi and dancing is associated with Guadalajara. I could see a side of the graphic show a colorful skirt: http://news.xinhuanet.com/english2010/photo/2011-09/04/c_131096546_2.htm
Monterrey also has a distinctive mountain horizon:

Mexico City = The Angel of Independence

MT, if you're game with going this route, I can run these ideas past our contributors to get feedback.

Thanks for the suggestion, MJ. I do like the idea...I am thinking they could appear as scattered photos over the map? Are there any concerns about rights to using the various photos?

Can we brainstorm a bit on this idea? I think we're getting somewhere cool.
Could we do stylize the image so that it is more retro-looking, then add small text for each city like one of those retro "Greetings from" postcards?

I like the suggestion a lot. Keep me posted once we've finalized direction.
Would need translated copy for "Greetings from".

The Mexico launch is now late September, so we have a bit more time on this one. I'm connecting with some community folks for feedback on the concept. Thanks!

Hi MT -- it's looking like the Mexico Telcel launch will now happen this October, so putting this back on your radar per your comment #24! We look to be in good shape for the big launch post, but still need four graphics for the individual cities. Take a look at MJ's comment #18 for some thinking :)!

Thanks for the update, Michaela. Currently working on these. One outstanding question with regards to the 'Greetings From' script...do we have translated copy for these?

The greetings from script...
I'm not sure I know what this is. MJ?

Update photo for the Guadalajara image: http://mzl.la/1xGaOpv (Add photo credit)
New photo for Monterrey: http://mzl.la/YTErok (Add photo credit)
For the text, you can put the city name on the image. Size, font and color can vary with whatever you like to make these look like postcards.
Ping me if you have any other Qs.

Let's change the text to México, D.F. (Sorry, I wasn't thinking about this being read by a Spanish-speaking audience)
