It would be nice to have some telemetry when FMD makes it to general audience. In particular, it would be good to have information on the frequency of error conditions such as:

- number of retries after a failed request to the server;
- number of times the push endpoint was lost;
- number of times a push endpoint failed to be acquired;
- "uptime" of the app (if it's too high, could indicate that we're leaking wakelocks)

Additionally, some more data could clarify how users are using FMD, which can better guide our product and UX decisions in the future:

- whether the user is logged in or not while running FMD;
- whether the logged in user is the same that enabled FMD (basically we should get a feel for how likely is the situation covered by bug 1000323)

Some of these may carry privacy concerns, but it doesn't hurt to think of useful metrics we'd like to track. Thoughts?

Just FYI, you should probably piggyback on the device telemetry (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=918444) vs creating a new metrics endpoint handled by cloud services -- that way you fit into the privacy policy, user opt out mechanisms, etc.
Depends on: 918444
