Steps to reproduce:
Upgraded to Thunderbird 31
Press "reply" or "write" to compose a new email
Actual results:
After the first email, composing subsequent emails results in an empty "To:" field and none of the header fields can be modified. Therefore no further emails can be sent without restarting Thunderbird.
Expected results:
Header fields should be modifiable

Does it happen also if Thunderbird is started in safe mode?

No it does not - and after manually disabling all extensions and plugins, then manually re-enabling them one at a time the problem only occurs when the "Display Contact Photo 1.2.6" plugin is enabled:

Apparently this is currently know to be incompatible with Thunderbird >= 31.
