1. As a user, I generally expect to find the "Preferences" menu in "Edit". Finding it in "Project" took me precious seconds. 2. The one single Editor preference people care about is the length of tabs (for example, Cloud 9 only shows "Soft tabs" and "Tab size", unless you go to advanced settings) I suggest we change the Editor settings to: - Tab size - Soft tabs (instead of "Indent using spaces" which is too long) - Autoindent (instead of "Detect indentation" which is too long) - Autocomplete (instead of "Autocompletion", maybe also indicate what keystroke triggers it?) - Autoclose brackets "Show editor" needs to go into General (else it's confusing).

(In reply to Jan Keromnes [:janx] from comment #0) > 1. As a user, I generally expect to find the "Preferences" menu in "Edit". > Finding it in "Project" took me precious seconds. This depends on your Operating System. Linux: under "Edit" Windows & Mac: in "Project"

Comment on attachment 8463449 [details] [diff] [review] Make WebIDE Preferences less confusing. (In reply to Paul Rouget [:paul] (slow to respond. Ping me on IRC) from comment #1) > This depends on your Operating System. > > Linux: under "Edit" > Windows & Mac: in "Project" If you're right I'll try not to OCD too much on that.

Review of attachment 8463449 [details] [diff] [review]: ----------------------------------------------------------------- ::: browser/devtools/webide/content/prefs.js @@ +22,1 @@ > document.querySelector("#manageSimulators").onclick = ShowAddons; I moved these buttons to be deck top-right links. Do we really want to keep a shortcut to "manage simulators" in the preferences?

Should we also update the identical strings for the toolbox options panel that landed in Bug 964356?

Ok, I see all the new preferences you mention. On Windows & Mac the preferences are still under the Project menu.
