Build: 0.9.5 (2001-10-11-17), Win2k-SP2
Open the Mail/News window. There is no content whatsoever anywhere. I mean, in
the section where you usually see the name of your account, plus local folders
etc, there is nothing there. Then of course there is nothing on the mail list or
the content panes either.
If you try to send a message, it recognizes the account in that it places the
correct From address. All the data appears correctly in the Account Manager, and
I tried deleting the old account, restarting mozilla and adding the new account.

Can you try it again with a new profile ?
run "mozilla -profilemanager" and create a second additional test profile

Created a new profile and everything works again.
Maybe some sort of migration problem or something similar?
Last version that I was using was around the Oct. 9 date... and I use ZIPs so I
just delete the mozilla folder and unzip the newer version there
sorry I don't remember the exact build I was using before!
win32 talkback build 2001101308, win98se. Mail component is completely unusable.
I previously used build 2001101103, and always unzip talkback builds into new
directories, and run mozilla -installer the first time with a new build. Used
the same profile between the two builds, never had anything like this happen before.
See attached screen shot (same thing happens with both Classic and Modern).
This is really bad.
Per some other bug (can't find it now), removing XUL.mfl in the profile
directory fixed the problem for me.

I think there have been multiple bugs for this, but right now I'll mark this as
a dup of http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106021 which was just
marked fixed.
