...it looks like this is GMP related.

Sorry, I should have searched for the URL earlier.  The XML made me think it was some ancient code involved. ;)

Randell, if it helps, I think Ryan was saying it was happening more often when we were having infrastructure problems.  So maybe an even more dummy URL is needed or something? ;)

Simple fix is simple, set the pref that bug 1046644 added (and probably do a little flipping of the expectations of tests, since at least the tests it added seem to expect the pref will start false and should be left true at the end).

Bunch of curious things, though: lots of green runs show the same pattern of having the XHR or the promise, whichever it is that hangs, hang until shutdown without leaking, and there isn't any obvious pattern for where and why it hangs or doesn't or leaks or doesn't. And is that "actually trigger it 60 seconds after delayed startup triggers it, to ensure that we're in the middle of running some random test when it fires" actually a good idea?
Not sure if it was a run of bad luck, or a bad thing headed our way, but those failures are from https://tbpl.mozilla.org/?tree=Try&rev=8132d731564e, mozilla-aurora as though it had been merged to beta, hitting this on four of five 10.8 debug dt3 runs. Might be useful for testing fixes or theories.
I ran into the same issue consistently on bug 1042161 and it is fixed there.
For some reason - that i haven't figured - this times out when using a dummy https url, but properly fails with http.

Given precedents like experiments staying activated, i'd assume we actually want to make sure that GMP updates etc. don't affect other code/behavior badly.
Leaving this enabled seems good as long as other tests aren't broken.

Any other concern here or can we call this fixed per bug 1042161?
