the tabbrowser feature is very useful - how abut an option to open all new
browser windows as a tab instead ? (to further reduce screen clutter)

Also - in case you didn't know about it:
Use this pref to open new links in a tab instead of new browser windows when
middle-button clicking:
user_pref("browser.tabs.opentabfor.middleclick", true);
