Satellite 1 appears dead.   Power cycling the Direct TV box had no effect on the problem.

The iPad UI appears to have no mechanism to select which Direct TV receiver is being controlled.
Control of each DirecTV tuner is available in the Advanced UI.  The buttons are labeled "TV Tuner 1" and "TV Tuner 2" on the "TV Tuners" page.

Control of both receivers has been tested.
