Details
(Whiteboard: MS WheelMouse, IntelliPoint 2.0 driver)
Mouse wheeling through a page stops working when the cursor is 20-30 pixels
above or below a text field. The correct behavior would be for the mouse wheel
to attempt to scroll the field only if the cursor is in the immediate vicinity
of the field. It should also detect wether the field is scrollable or not, which
it doesn't in its current state.
Reporter, please provide more information.
1. The Build ID you're using
2. The mouse make, model and software version you're using
3. Detailed steps to reproduce the problem.

Sorry about that, I thought the build info was automatically entered into the
bug report. I'm new at this. Build is 0.9.5. Mouse is MS WheelMouse using
Intellipoint 2.0 software. To reproduce: Load (for instance) a bug page just
like this one, and place the pointer on the right side of the page (which
should be blank on a 1024 screen res). The fields being on the left of the
page. Now scroll the wheel down across the fields. The wheel should
stop when above a field, even if it isn't scrollable.

I don't understand the problem: in your initial description, you say that the
scrolling should continue even if a text field is encountered.
In your comment #2, you say that scrolling should stop when it encounters a field.
Either I am misunderstanding something, or this doesn't make sense.
Either way, the reporter has not responded to this bug's comments for five
months now and last tested it with Mozilla 0.9.5... I see no reason not to
resolve the bug for now.
Reporter, if you decide to pursue this bug and still have this problem with the
latest release, feel free to reopen the bug. If you do that, please clarify the
problem.
Thanks for testing Mozilla.
