Opening a bug to collect a list of rooms seeing this issue and the plan a fix.
Hey Ruben or Soap - can you gather a list of rooms w/ displays that are under-scanning Vidyo (Vidyo does not fit the entire screen) in SFO. Once we get the list, we can make the changes on the Vidyo boxes. Probably easiest to do during conf room checks.
Warfield has this issue.
Here are the rooms I have so far:

sfo-7b The Warfield
sfo 153 capppucino
sfo 101 macchiato
sfo 104 Espresso
sfo 232 ansel adams
sfo 7I Independent
SFO 132 Americano

That is the last of it. All other rooms are ok.
All conf rooms have been updated to fit full screen! Thanks Guillermo!

One thing we have noticed after this change was implemented is that when using the LCDs in presentation mode, the outside edges of the screen are obviously cropped out. If any users want to use this mode for full screen PPTs, Firefox browser demos, etc., the entire window / desktop will not be displayed. Changing this ticket back to open mode.

Hey Aaaron - Can you advise on the nest best step to fix the under-scan on the Vidyo source? It looks like the "fix" that Guillermo and I implemented is impairing other sources. We have also tried the overscan settings on the Vidyo box and they do nothing. Is there anything you can do from the matrix?

Tanks for the help!

This needs to be properly set in the Vidyo. The displays should all be set to their "native" or "dot-by-dot" aspect settings and any over- or under-scan settings should be turned off. The matrix doesn't process the video, it just switches it so there's not much that can be done there without affecting all sources.

Is there something on the Vidyo side that caused this to happen in the first place? I can get into a matrix's settings and see the incoming video resolution from Vidyo, but not much else.

Got it - thanks Aaron. Guillermo and I tried all of the display settings on the HD220s and nothing gave us full native resolution. It is really odd because like in the boardroom or noise pop the HD220s do provide native resolution to the monitor. Got it - it looks like this is a Vidyo case ...... ughhhh.

Let me know if you find anything interesting on the rooms listed in Comment 3. Otherwise, I will open a ticket with Vidyo.
Just checked a couple of rooms and they're showing connection from both outputs of the HD-220 at 1920x1080i/30 - the output setup in the HD-220 shows 1080p - so the "i" shouldn't really be there - and it should show a refresh of 60Hz, but I honestly don't remember what is normal for the HD-220.

The display should be set in such a way that other sources (Apple TV, etc.) are properly framed out. If this is the case, something in the HD-220 is likely the culprit.

There's nothing about the reported resolution that should show an underscan, so it could be some internal framing of the Viydo's output image.
Noted above

"when using the LCDs in presentation mode, the outside edges of the screen are obviously cropped out"
It sounds as if there are two separate issues here? If the presentation source (non-Vidyo) is not fitting the screen properly, there is a setting in the monitors (View Mode) that has been changed, and needs to be reset to rectify the issue. If the Vidyo source is under-scanning on the screens but the presentation is fine, then Vidyo underscan settings would be the way to attempt to resolve the issue (only they don't always do what they are supposed to do, and sometimes do not fill the screen anyway). If we can get a list of rooms, and also whether the issue is happening during presentation, or only with Vidyo, we can make quick work of resolving the issues, or letting you know if we need to report a bug to Vidyo.
John - you are correct, the presentation view is not fitting on the screens due to display zooming and Vidyo source is under-scanning because ... god knows why. What we need to do is reset the displays to non-zoom and figure out why the Vidyo boxes are under-scanning (even though we have tried all of the overscan settings on the Vidyo boxes w/ no luck). Guillermo will be on site tomorrow and we will check it out.

Thanks,
Joel
Perfect Joel. The screens should be set up to the view mode of "Screen Fit" on all of those displays. Let us know if you need assistance from our end.
We found that this is an issue with the way HD220s handle the crestron. We are testing using 720p in Macchiato and Espresso.

720p seems to fix this issue. Want to talk with Netops before we go to standardizing.
Standardizing on display set to 720p and camera set to 1080p as VidyoRouter scales it based on available bandwidth.
