I'd like to see the idea of a "Remind Me..." event type added to FFXOS, most likely through the Contacts app.

Basically, this Remind Me action would serve to remind the user of whatever text they put into the Remind Me body the next time they are contacted by that contact (email, text/SMS, phone).

This feature saw heavy use from me under webOS, and an evolution of this feature is currently in Cortana under WP8.1 as well as in other smartphone platforms.

Basically, from the Quick Actions panel I proposed in Bug 1048385, the user could ask to be Reminded about whatever thing the next time they interact with that contact.

When that interaction happens, FFXOS will pop up a dialog box saying Reminder: blah blah blah blah. The user can opt to confirm or archive the reminder for the next time.

Flagging to Carrie to see if we've considered and/or tested anything like this. I know we've done a lot of testing in Contacts and with prototypes the past few rounds, and that the majority of people rely on the call log almost exclusively and don't access Contacts, but I don't recall reminders explicitly. Hi, 

We have a plan to bookmark important contacts on home screen and display the interaction history (e.g. SNS, IM) with that important contact as well. This could be a way to track the important things that you should remember about that contact. I think tagging some reminders from the bookmarked contacts may be a good idea, but that's several steps ahead our current status. I will note it down and bring it up when we are planning for the feature in the future. :) Thanks!

Sounds pretty amazing.

As Carrie comments we will be delivering contact bookmarking in 2.2, and in Portland we will have a session for planning 2.3, sounds to me the perfect place to talk about this.

Guys,

I know Vaani is under some state of development, but I'd just like to say that obviously once Vaani is shipped, it should be able to work with the "Remind Me" event for contacts.

I hope you guys can find a way to implement this or something very much like it as it'd be invaluable for work.
