spun off from bug 57443. this is the unix-only [linux] version: attempting to save a link to a file with a really long name results in an error [and no download]. will attach bill's testcase soon. recipe: 1. load [upcoming] testcase. 2. bring up context menu for the link, and select "save link as". results: get a dialog saying "there was an error writing to the target location". bill, do reassign as needed!

Re-assigning. I have a matching bug 105151 for the Win32 file picker. I think that each implementation fails when given a really long "default" file name but that the fix is going to be per-platform (to detect that that has happened and deal with it).

This is working for me now. The filename is now set to "Bogus_Link.html", from the link text, so no additional fix is needed.
