Did we localize the Gear Store promo for the original homepage launch in October? 

Alex - did we have a graphic from Ty?

If not, we are looking to push this out for en-us in the next week.  I'll ask Hannah to tell us which locales we should localize for.

Yes. At first I didn't realize it was en-US only, when I did I decided to keep the strings in since we already had some localizations.

Note that:
* we have "Merch with a mission. <br>Products with a purpose. <br>Goods that do good.", so we need to reuse that and eventually strip tags for Tabzilla.
* we'll need to copy strings over to tabzilla.lang if you want to create a promo

I just checked and I still have the gear-store promo icons on my hard-disk, although I've lost the exact text we used for the hover-reveal state. Flod do you still have that string handy too?

Note that the site is still password protected, but that will be turned off before 10am PST Nov 25 when we plan to launch our channel promotions. 

Also we're trying to make the store even cooler by calling it "OMG" -- short form of "Official Mozilla Gear." :)

For the home page, certainly. Do we have copy and design for Tabzilla yet, or will we do home page only for next week?

Also, just to confirm, which position on the home page? I'm guessing in place of Webmaker? And we'll replace the small Appmaker promo with the small Webmaker promo?

Yes:  Gear store replaces Webmaker in the big promo and Webmaker replaces Appmaker in the small promo (for en-US only because Gear store isn't localized).

Do you think you could use the existing copy and icon and make something super simple for Tabzilla?  Please tell me if you don't have bandwidth for that.  I'm fine leaving Fx OS there too.

I thought Gear was going in the Communities slot. Am I remembering that wrong?

I think this is my fault. Last week I put the Donate promo in the spot previously held by SUMO, but I think Donate should have replaced Webmaker (moving Webmaker to the small spot currently held by Appmaker) and left SUMO where it was.

But we can correct that now by moving Donate to the big slot currently held by Webmaker and putting Gear in the newly vacated spot currently held by Donate.

One more question, and probably one for Ty (cc'd): what color should the new Gear promo be? I can't remember what color it was when it was originally designed but the mix of other promos has completely changed since then anyway so we probably just need to pick a new color that will play nicely with the others.
