>>Project/Request Title: Fx Hello Logo and Icon Design >>Project Overview: Firefox Hello logo and icon design We have an opportunity to design a Firefox Hello logo and icon. Currently, the only brand ID treatment for Hello is the Firefox Hello wordmark seen in slide 21 of this deck: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzyMO2Ekfme6MWVOSmlCSENJNms/edit?usp=sharing We're looking to create a logo and icon treatment that can better express the Hello personality attributes in the follow scenarios: - Feature page on Mozilla.org - Hello on-boarding - Hello client UI dropdown - Hello web app UI - Browser toolbar (icon only) - Firefox OS app icon - Marketplace app icon The logo and icon should be unique to Hello and visually differentiate it from existing communications (talk/text/video) apps available through various services and app stores. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzyMO2Ekfme6blZpb3MwWUV3RnM/edit?usp=sharing Hello is the simplest way to connect with the people you love around the globe. Because it's about connecting, the Hello logo and icon should reflect a sense of joy or excitement that comes along with speaking with someone special to you. >> Creative Help Needed: Copy: No Design: Yes Video: No Other: No >>Creative Specs: will need PSD files and PNGs of the final design >>CTA and Design: Naming deck: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzyMO2Ekfme6MWVOSmlCSENJNms/edit?usp=sharing Current Hello Spec: https://people.mozilla.org/~dhenein/labs/loop-mvp-spec/ Current Web UI:https://people.mozilla.org/~dhenein/labs/loop-link-spec/#call-start >>Creative Due Date: 2014-08-22 >>Launch Date: 2014-09-04 >>Mozilla Goal: Services >>Points of Contact: Mnovak@Mozilla.com, firstname.lastname@example.org
Update on timing: Based on our weekly Hello meeting yesterday, it sounds like the icon doesn't need to be in product until October (i.e. we don't need it for Beta), but we should still work on this concurrently with the onboarding tour and product page (bug 1050485) so we're not just slapping it into the design at the last minute. Depending on what we come up with, it may help to inform the page design and onboarding experience.

Lee, as discussed please check in with Madhava, Michael & Darren and let us know what you find out.
Arcadio, could you recommend a new due date for this one?
Sure thing : ) October 5, 2014. Delivering this by then will get us into 34 Beta on October 14. However, the icon design may inform the feature landing page design so we can work together on that timeline. Definitely worth a quick meeting. Arcadio
Updating due date to 10/9 (driven by web page design timing).

Hey Lee - what's going on with this project? Deadline is approaching!
Hi Lee - we're past the deadline and I know there was still iteration being done last week. Can you please give me a status update?
Hi Lizz, The logo design had been routed through Product Marketing and Product UX teams last week, and hopefully will be approved this week. Also, John and Liz Compton are making sure we don't have any legal snags: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1084032
Here's the link to the vector icon for Product UX, and the color logo for Marketing: http://cl.ly/2H3O42420M2z
