Several times a day the mail check feature, set to check every two minutes, will keep on checking "forever". It doesn't get new mails again till i've stopped it manually by clicking the stop-button. I can't find any pattern to as when it goes on spinning. It can work for an hour, then fail. When i notice the "spinning mode" and stop it, then click Get Msg, there are often several mails that should have arrived in the meanwhile. It's been like this for a long time now, but i can't find open related bugs other than 67894, so might as well file it. Currently using 0.9.5+ Gecko/20011014, (actually a 6 h. old CVS.)
reporter, Do you have the Pref " Automatically download new messages" checked?
yes.
Ahh and i have the interval set to check every 5 minutes (not 2 as i said before) There is no clear pattern to when it happens. I haven't found anything special about the mails that finally arrive after i stop the automated checking and get a "round" of mails manually instead.
one situation where i see this intermittant bug more often is if i have selected a newsgroup and been reading there, and leave it selected for a while - half an hour for instance.
The throbber ("spinning mode") going on could be because of news connection still going on. Try to isolate the problem with just one pop3 acccount in a profile, and report back.
Reporter, Is this still a problem on recent builds? Did you get a chance to try this without the news account.
i haven't seen it for a while. WFM.
