From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.5) Gecko/20011011 BuildID: 2001101117 When a page with a meta-refresh is loaded into a tabbed window and sent to the back (another tab is the active pane), the spinning arrow icon and "Loading..." text become too vertically tall for the tab (in the 'classic' skin at least.) When the tab bontents become too tall, the tab expands in height, causing the bowser pane to "shift" down to accomadate the new tab height. This can be very annoying if the page in the backdrop refreshes quickly. I have been able to duplicate this on Windows 98, and Windows NT (smae build), but not on Linux. (Current 0.9.5 build) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a new tab window. 2. Load a page into one tab that has a meta-refresh value of 10 seconds, and reloads itself. 3. Make the other tab the foreground tab. 4. Watch the page loaded in the foreground tab when the other page reloads. Actual Results: The page in the main tab "shifts" down a few pixels to accomodate the new tab height. Expected Results: The page in the main window should not shift at all. It should maintain its current size when the tab displays the spinning arrow icon and the "Loading..." text. Put this code into the file "thisfile.html". Use it as the page for the background refresher. <html> <head> <meta http-equiv=Refresh content="8;url=thisfile.html"><meta http-equiv=Pragma content="no-cache"> <title>Test Page</title> </head> <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" TEXT="#000000"> <p>Just some stupid holder text. Watch me bounce on the refresh!</P> </body> </html>
This does not appear in the "Modern" theme on Windows 98 or NT. This may want to be re-assigned to the "Classic" themes developer. Or themes in general. I'll leave that up to someone else to determine.
I'm going to reassign this to themes.
