Details
The download of any file type (like .PDF, .ZIP .CRM ...) works fine, exept for
.EXE (like self extracting Archives).
The download process starts and finishes normal, but i cannot find the
downloaded file in the defined directory or at any other place on the disk.
Using Windows Explorer 5.5 or Netscape 4.7, I've not that problem.
This Error can be reproduced with Mozilla .94 and .95
(Please excuse my bad english)

Reporter do you have a specific url to check ?

Reporter:
I think you will find the .exe in your windows temp folder.
Mozilla downloads all files in the temp folder and moves the file later to the
correct place.
Download "test.exe"->temp\"XYZ.EXE"-> correct location\"test.exe".
Have you running a virus scanner in the background ?

Julien,

download: BRICKware 6.1.3
Mattias,
you've made a partly right shot.
I found the downloaded .exe in the Windows temp folder (with different Name)but
not on the correct place (the correct place is on an associated Novell Network
Drive).
I've running a virus scanner in the background: F-Prot (f-secure for Windows NT4)
Notes: This is only when i download executibles.
This is not, using other Browsers.

and my last questions :
Does this also happen if you download the file to a local folder (not a Novell
share) ?
If not: Does it work if you disable the Anti-Virus scanner ?

Matthias,
on the basis of your good queries, i found some interesting results.
We have in my company zwo types of network drives. Some Novell based and some
ADS (Microsoft Active Directory Service) based.
My mistake was to thought the download go to a Novell drive.
OK, the results: Virus Scanner ON, save the download on a
Local Drive OK.
Novell network Drive OK.
MS ADS Drive FAILES !

maybe this will fixed if we find a solution for bug 55690.
and it's difficult to confirm this bug because only a few people have access to
a MS ADS.
Changing summary. The "move" operation performed after the download to the
temporary file is failing in this case, apparently.
Reassigning.

Boris,
Why is this not on Netscape 4.x or MS Win-Explorer 5.5 in the same environment ?

This may be the same as/related to bug 120957 (Saving page to a windows network
share does not work)

Meanwhile I'm using Windows 2000 (where the ADS is standard) with Mozilla 1.1 -
and the bug no longer exists. So i assume it is a Microsoft bug especially in
combination of Windows NT & ADS. I don't wonder about that, because the ADS has
many (other) bugs ;-)
