Steps to reproduce:

1. Open a multiple tabs in a normal session.
2. Close the browser.
3. Use private browsing.
4. Close private browsing.
5. Open firefox in normal session


Actual results:

The previous normal session could not be restored (through "history -> restore previous session or using the shortcut in a newly opened firefox window


Expected results:

I should have been given the option to restore the previous normal session, which I used to have on previous versions of firefox

What intermediary steps you did between 2 and 3?

2. Close the browser.
3. Use private browsing.

If you opened the browser, select a new private window (without any other actions in the default window) and then close them, the next time you want to restore the session, it will only remember the home page previously open.

Please note that private window can be open without closing the browser first.

Hello, and thanks for you answer,

Between steps 2 and 3, I open a new window in private mode (right click on the pinned icon on the taskbar) (that's what I called "Use private browsing.")

I am aware that I can use private browsing without closing the normal browsing, but sometimes i'm not running firefox, and I just need to google something up, so I launch a private session.
Afterwards I am not able to recover the normal session though.

I would understand that firefox would clear the oldest session to replace it with the current one if you dont restore the oldest one if it had always been that way, but I'm sure the behavior was not like this some versions back (can't exactly tell which one, nowadays firefox is updating very frequently)
