Effects af/Afrikaans
I can confirm that this issue is present for many of the languages listed under Settings > Language
Should these strings stay in English?
They're not in English, they're in their native language (French keyboard, French name).

I'm actually referring to the headings above "Built-in Keyboard"
Keyboard Settings
Demo Keyboard
Number
English
Select Keyboards

"Number" is the name of the keyboard. It's not localizable on 2.0, and it's been removed in 2.1 (master)
"English" is the name of the English keyboard, and it's correctly in English.

"Keyboard Settings" and "Select keyboards" are localizable.

I've just tested 2.0 on Hamachi and these are localizable, and I don't see "Afrikaans" in the list of available locales.

Can you tell me exactly what device are you testing, which version of Gaia and how it's installed on the device?

You mark the bugs as LocRun2.0 but you're actually testing 2.1? That's a bit confusing.

Can you explain me in details how you flash Gaia on the device?
We were supplied with a build from Stephany on the understanding that it was a 2.0 build. Hence why we are filing them as 2.0.
We are supposed to be working on 2.0, so it looks like we need to get a 2.0 build from somewhere.

Please yes. Also note the date (20140724, Jul 24).
http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/gaia-l10n/v2_0/af

Most of the landings happened after that date, so I think you're reporting bugs already fixed.
Also note that master is completely unreliable for Afrikaans.

On 2.0 "Selected Keyboards" is translated as "Gekose sleutelborde", the same string is missing on master.
Théo, do you have a flame running 2.0? I've just flashed my Hamachi and I don't have Afrikaans, even if the locale should be there https://github.com/mozilla-b2g/gaia/blob/v2.0/locales/languages_all.json

The flash instructions we received from Stephany installed all languages. http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/gaia-l10n/v2_0/af only covers one language. Is there a 2.0 build including all languages? If not, presumably we need a 2.0 base image for all languages and then we patch the languages builds on top of that.
Are there some general instructions on how to flash the Flame device we can refer to?
We have tried flashing 2 phones and they are both on the blue screen of death.

The shallow_flash.sh script fails in the
echo "### Cleaning Gaia and Profiles ..."
section

Is this a known issue?
Not that I'm aware of.

Did it happen when flashing the base image or the updated 2.0? Can you try flashing it again? You might want to join irc (#gaia) to try getting help to fix it.
(see also Emergency download mode and Recovery mode in the same MDN document)
We were trying to flash 2.0. Rebooting the phones just causes the same freezing to happen.
We will investigate the Emergency download mode and Recovery mode over the weekend.
Just checked on latest 2.0 with Afrikaans, I don't see any unlocalized string

"Keyboard Settings" and "Selected keyboards" have been fully translated as "Sleutelbordinstellings" and "Gekose sleutelborde" respectively. The translations have been pushed to the latest v2.0 production build as per build ID: 20140820000201
