Let's get an order of magnitude better (in terms of time spent and accuracy of results) in search :)   I suggest this can help with bug 920945.

Other ideas which need bugs?
- make advanced search facet on escalated questions
- list more results, like bug 657824

Make advanced search discoverable.  Instead of hiding it under "contributor tools" put is where users can find and use it.  Perhaps on the search results page so they can refine their search that produced thousands of results and nothing useful.

Hi Wayne, Not sure anyone has time or resources to give any priority to contributor facing improvements to searches etc.. at present.

It did cross my mind to ask for elastic search to be added to the list of topics for a dev talk, but I think Admins have also given up on the idea of other dev talks.

I have not had much time myself for doing things on Sumo recently, so sorry for delay in replying to the NI. 

bug1177449:I could try to argue that  could still be valid in that I suspect users (Those asking for help, as opposed to Contributors) will try to use the Sumo search in the same way as Google and give up on the sumo search when they realise that is not how Sumo searches work, But I think that would be seen as as something not worth researching. 

IIRC there may also be an outstanding suggestion to link the Search KB article, and another suggestion to make the advanced search more visible.

Closing this for the purpose of making bugs easier to prioritize.
