It appears reasonable to have managers see the PTO of the people "downstream in the org chart" in one convenient view. It's a use case that was previously roughly covered by seeing All The Things™. That might need a bit of clever visual design since some folks have a lot of indirect reports.
I think there's value for not-managers too - ideally anyone who was included in the notification list would also be able to see the PTO via the app as well. Since people often notify aliases, I imagine that would be relatively complicated, though :(
Shared calendar view probably takes care of that eventually. Bug 533770. Also, obviously, pull requests welcome, since the PTO project doesn't have official resources working on it.
Where is the code? Also do we reasonably expect any changes we make to go live? I'm cynical given the past attempts to update the PTO app to something more modern.
