User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:32.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/32.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20140814150857 Steps to reproduce: I'm using the Beta on Mac OSX 10.10 and the dev tools. I tried to inspect an input which had a custom placeholder style. Unfortunately it is not showing up in Rules tab in the Inspector anymore. I remember it to be working a few versions ago. I believe either this version (earlier release) or one before (31). Actual results: You can check on my codepen. There is a placeholder assigned and not showing in the dev tools. http://codepen.io/LHT/pen/KyIAj
I tried with FF28, I don't see the placeholder in the Inspector tool. Are you sure it's not a feature added by an extension?

Hi Loic, I'm not sure which version it was. I might be mistaken. I use the Beta for quite some versions now and maybe it was a feature that didn't make it into a release. But I'm fairly certain that I was able to inspect and change placeholder pseudo element before with the internal dev tool. If this was never implemented before, I guess this ticket can be turned into a feature request. Thanks!

Probably depends on bug 777674 (which looks like it's maybe finally almost there!)

Closing this as ".top_search input::-moz-placeholder" rule is now displayed under "Pseudo elements"
