Steps to reproduce:

Upload pdf document using standard webform using Firefox version 31.  Repeated with version 30 and worked correctly.


Actual results:

php detects mime type as application/x-forcedownload



Expected results:

php should detect mime type as application/pdf

Further investigation has shown that this bug only appears when Firefox has been upgraded from a previous version.  Performing a reset Firefox fixes the problem.  Maybe mimeTypes.rdf becomes corrupt during the upgrade.  

Also a fresh install of Firefox 31, when it hasn’t been installed before is also unaffected.

In Firefox 31 and older versions, there was a known bug where the browser https://foxynamer.com/ sometimes incorrectly detected the MIME type of certain file uploads, including PDF files. Instead of identifying the file as a PDF with the correct MIME type "application/pdf," it might have been detected as a generic "application/octet-stream" or "application/x-download" type.
