Reproducible on latest Nightly 34.0a1 (buildID: 20140825030205) Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:34.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/34.0 Steps to reproduce: 1. Make sure that Firefox is not your default browser. 2. Launch Firefox. Actual results: The notification bar for setting the default browser correctly appears, but the Nightly icon (from the left corner) is not vertically centered. See screenshot "issue.png". Expected results: The notification bar for setting the default browser correctly appears and the Nightly icon is vertically centered. Note: This issue is reproducible also on Ubuntu 13.10.

This issue no longer occurs on latest Firefox 123 beta and Nightly 124 versions on Windows 10, this UI section in meantime was also radically modified, so I'm closing it as WFM.
