1058465 - Inconsistent page widths in new designs

In the prior design, the inner main content always spanned 100%, even though the header, nav, and footer spanned wider.

In the feed's design, the header and footer span the same width, but now the header spans a different width (because of the left padding on the first nav item and the right padding on the last nav item), in addition to the inner main content now spanning a different width. There also some new inconsistencies with the "More" buttons.

The page widths are overall inconsistent, resulting in quite a jarring experience IMO.

A P5 means that the behavior "rarely affects anybody noticeably." Is this true?

For me at least, this is the most noticeable thing for me. Especially with the navigation bar, currently not much seems to align:

With the amount of things in flux on Feed (nav, desktop layout, etc), we could spend a lot of time fixing it only to overwrite it with something else.

So we're focusing on that something else; should (but is not guaranteed to) obviate the issue.

I don't want to lose the idea altogether, hence the P5.

These issues are being addressed with the next iteration of the Desktop UI.  Bug 941207
