[Tracking Requested - why for this release]: New feature, UX strangeness.

bug 612453, somewhere along the way, inverted the original styling to bold already-typed words, as opposed to using bold for completion options. This runs counter to what Google/Bing/Yahoo have aligned on, and doesn't appear to have a clear design rationale.

In the absence of data showing why this is better, I'd argue for following the existing UIs that this feature was originally designed to emulate.
The bolding is going to be removed shortly with the unified suggestion design from bug 1047354.
Are we uplifting that to 33? If not, I'd still want to see us ship something without obvious divergence.
It's a goal but not a hard requirement. See bug 1054516 comment 6
Tracking until we have decided what to do here.
If nothing happens before beta 6, we will probably wontfix it for 33.
The plan is to uplift the bolding removal to 33, as I understand it.
Yes, bug 1066794 removes bolding altogether for the short term, and bug 1054951 and its dependents handle design in the long term. So I'll mark this bug as invalid (and clear the tracking flag; bug 1066794 is currently tracking-33?, but the plan is to uplift it to 33 as far as I know).
