Flashes Sidebar: Notification: folder icon should not show green arrow if no new messages
Flashes Sidebar: Notification: folder icon should not show green arrow if no new messages Setup: I'm using Win32 build 1999072708, IMAP 1) Start Messenger 2) Select the Inbox 3) Get new messages 4) In the Sidebar, Flashes panel, I see my server listed: vadar. In the description, it reads "0 new messages" Notice that the folder icon next to the server name shows a green arrow to indicate new mail. Expected results: If there are 0 new messages (which is true because I don't have any new mail), then the folder icon next to the server name should not show a green arrow. Have not tried Linux or Mac yet.
David, maybe I should be doing some checking, but I wonder if you aren't setting the biff state correctly when there's no new messages. reassigning to bienvenu
I should mention that this is an imap account. I don't think this is happening for POP.
I'll check - I didn't port the backend biff stuff, but I'll poke around and connect the loose ends.
I only set the biff state to new mail when there are new headers to download (see 10594) but when should I be clearing the biff state? Not whenever I do biff. I'm never clearing it, but I thought we were going to do that when the user clicks get new mail or loads a folder, or reads a message.
reassigning to me. Right now I'm not clearing on download. I'm depending on it being cleared the next time a biff goes off. But you're right, if I did it when messages are downloaded, this wouldn't be an issue for you.
I think this needs to be fixed by PR1, so I added a note to the Status Whiteboard
this won't happen in M11.
(target milestone is M11 or M12 - add to mail beta tracking bug)
Since we won't have alerts, this bug may be invalid now.
not gonna happen in M12. Marking M14.
