1060026 - New tab page entries are all blank

As of a day or two ago, when I open the new tab page, all of the little rectangles where screenshots are supposed to go are blank.  There's just a bunch of dotted outlines.  Clicking on them doesn't do anything either.  Restarting doesn't help.  This is my existing profile which was working just fine up until now.

Any JS exceptions thrown when the page is loaded?

I'm not sure how to check that.  I don't see anything in the browser console, except a few network requests.

I attached the JS Debugger to newTab.js and NewTabUtils.jsm but nothing appears to be hit there.

I also some "content is null" messages in the console when viewing it through the Browser Toolbox, which points to here: http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/addon-sdk/source/lib/framescript/tab-events.js#40

It could be caused by bug 1051017, or it could be a red herring. But I thought it was worth mentioning

This should fix itself within 24 hours. You can fix it now by going to about:config and change the value for the preference "browser.newtabpage.directory.source" to "", then reset the preference (right-click -> reset). Then restart the browser.
