* Especially if they initially get rejected, we want to encourage them to reapply so we can count them towards contribution. * Let's review and update the email copy to make sure we underscore: "please reapply" * The email includes the feedback from the reviewer, so this copy could come from there. And also be better included in the standard boilerplate copy.
* Who's going to write this copy?

I'm happy to. Could someone remind me where the current copy is? Etherpads?
* Going to move this to [sep19] * We need a better way to review and tweak mails, as per Doug's question -- working on that for next sprint

I believe the email copy for the badge recipients is here: https://teach.etherpad.mozilla.org/badge-messages

* Sweet! Doug: are you able to update the mail how you guys want it? Then we can update in the system.

OK, check the etherpad to see if it's what you were expecting! Only tweaks I made to the successful badge email templates was to include link back to badge detail page in optional tweet out. https://teach.etherpad.mozilla.org/badge-messages Note: I made up new placeholders: {% badge name %} and {% badge detail page URL %} ;-)

* over to michelle for review

* The [oct3] train has now left the station. So please update the whiteboard with [oct17], or whatever train you're now planning to put this on. Thanks!
* I think this copy still needs review from Michelle so we can ship it

Summary: Do better at encouraging rejected badge applicants to re-apply → Updated rejected badge application email
Paul is helping with all our messages to users, too. Flagging for his review. https://teach.etherpad.mozilla.org/badge-messages Rejection email is fine, but when the badge directory page lands, we should include a link to it and say, "You may qualify for these other badges."

Question on rejection email: Any sense of how many of these rejections are because of missing info vs. truly not qualifying? I ask because in the intro we say "we need a little more information" and in the closing we say "re-applying." Re-applying sounds hard (and I fear people bail when asked to apply 2x) while "you are almost done, we just need a little more info" sounds easy. If it's mostly missing info I'd like to emphasize the latter at the end and beginning. More generally all these are good for now. I'm in the process of creating an inventory all email communications a webmaker user might receive and once we look at things more holistically I may (or may not) want to tweak. We'll also likely want to hack the "pave your path to becoming a mentor" CTA for badge recipients at some point. Or at least where that CTA points to. Can happen once we figure out what that clear path might look like.

* I'm assuming this ticket is now in the icebox. Meaning: no one is actively working in it further, until further notice * please update if that's wrong

Webmaker badges has been deprecated for a while now. We're working towards retiring the Webmaker Product on bugzilla, so I'm closing this issue.
