Flame, master, Sept 2. STR: reboot phone For a short while after reboot, there's a blue line across the top of the homescreen. I'm not sure why or when it goes away, but it does!

Another way to reproduce this is: 1. press power + vol-down to capture screenshot. 2. observe a notification shows up then shrinks back. I think this blue line is part of the notification.

(In reply to Sherman Chen [:chens] from comment #5) > Seems like a new design, see bug 1042713 Wow. Yeah, this is intentional. Ni? for UX team. It really just looks like something is broken.

Also, it does not disappear for me. It is always present.

OK - the issues I observed earlier do not appear in today's build. The animation and colors look correct (i.e. white and blue, with the color building in proportion to the number of notifications) and the bar is not all solid white. When I pull down to see notifications, the indicator disappears: previously I had to click "Clear All" to get the bar to go away. This does appear to be according to spec. Dietrich, please re-flag me if you're not seeing the expected animations, etc. This is one of those things that I think needs some time before we decide if it's an effective design or not, but with the animations and behavior working properly now it does not appear broken.

So should this be closed as invalid (i.e. working as expected)?

Yes, the problem was that first day where the animations and colors were not correct. Makes a lot more sense now that the feature is working properly!
