I was using Build Id:2001101021 reasonably happily under 10.0.4. I upgraded 10 10.1 Moz crashed frequently (5 - 25 pages of use. It crashes EVERY time I press submit to change my password for BugZilla. Tried current build (Oct 23 @ 10:11) with same problems. Noticed other issues: 1) When visiting a news link for the second time MOZ would display an empty page and say done. Toggling between news: and nntp: caused it to work for a while - then nothing 2) When looking at news - box in upper corner never stopped. I was unable to type in a URI in Moz and go to the page unless I closed the news reader (which was hard to get back into because of #1 Sites I visit: isaac.lsu.edu/class acm2001.csc.lsu.edu macintouch deal-mac slashdot Just bouncing among these is enough to crash Moz
Reporter, you selected "Mac System 8.5" as the OS for this bug, but you're talking about running Mozilla under Mac OS X. Can you be more specific about your configuration? Also, in order to diagnose the crashes, you will need to submit crash logs. Under OS X, you can enable CrashReporter to provide this data. See [http://developer.apple.com/qa/qa2001/qa1057.html].
Keywords: crash
Config: MacOS X - just upgraded to 10.1 PowerMac G4 dual 450 MHz In addition to crashes - I am also experiencing hangs, ball starts twirling and nothing helps but a force quit. Moz does not seem to notice that the page has finished loading. It will consume 90+ percent of the cpu. The Nac)S 8.5 was a mistake - I made the mistake of trying to use Moz and was in a hurry before it crashed/hung
OS: Mac System 8.5 → MacOS X
Severity: blocker → critical
New wrinkle: After adding line to /etc/hostconfig to invoke crashdump, none of the three versions of Moz I have will start. All die immediately with: Application has unexpectantly quit. This behavior continues even though I have commented the crashdump line out. This means I can't provide a crash dump nor can I confirm anything else since I can't get moz to load at all. Versions tried: 2001 10 10 9:25 2001 10 23 8:14 2001 10 26 7:26
Could you please try starting 'mozilla -Profilemanager' ? Then create a new profile. Does that fix the problems?
Isaac. can you still reproduce this problem under 0.9.6?
seems fine witn 0.9.7. reopen if you disagree. thanks
