Joni / Roland - could we get a SUMO page documenting how to use the 'send video to' feature on the Roku? Steps are documented in the beta post. If you need any more context or info on the 'how', let me know and I can forward you some threads on the topic.

:kar you mean the following blog post right? https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2014/09/05/road-test-sending-video-to-chromecast-and-roku-in-firefox-for-android-beta/ :jsavage is writing the article and it should be ready this week

Yep, I do! Beauty. Thanks.
Karen, definitely! I'm having trouble finding the Firefox channel in the Roku channel store (I browsed and searched for "Firefox"). Am I missing a step? The Firefox Nightly channel isn't listed either, but I still have it on my Roku from a while back. Are the steps the same for pre-release versions as release, but they just have their own channels? I'll have the article ready in the next day or so after I figure this out. Joni
Hi Joni, We're working with Roku to make it public (so that you don't need to know the specific address). It is currently found here: https://owner.roku.com/add/ZQFJD I'm getting Roku to confirm which categories it will ultimately sit in. BTW, the nightly channel should be found by entering 'FirefoxNightly' here https://owner.roku.com/add/
Thanks, Karen. I have an initial draft ready here: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/firefox-android-send-videos-to-roku-or-chromecast. Do we want to leave Chromecast out for now? I've included it since the instructions are similar to Roku's, and Roland let me know that we're enabling Chromecast on 33 Beta anyway. Roland and I will go over the article tomorrow to make sure I'm not missing anything. I'll also do another check once this is on Beta. In the meantime, please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Great draft, Joni! * Please keep Chromecast in. We may want to make it even more general in the future if we get more partners on board, but for now I don't mind using both of those names (Roku and Chromecast). * By the same token that you were able to call out setting up Roku, I would do the same for Chromecast and provide setup instructions as well. * For that 'add firefox to roku' note, is it possible to box that off a bit more? Just to make it seem like a boxed side-bar note, kind of thing. Or just something to make it look like it isn't a specific 'step' since it's only applicable to roku users. * Step 2 of your 'send video' instructions: I believe we call it 'Firefox Beta'. Additionally, I would reword 'supported website' to something along the lines of 'then go to a site with supported videos and click on a video. ' Do Roku and Chromecast list which video types they support on their page that can be referenced? Thanks again!
Thanks for the great feedback, Karen. I've added your suggestions to the article: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/use-firefox-android-send-videos-your-roku After speaking with Roland, we thought it'd be best to document Chromecast in a separate article - I have a draft for Chromecast here too:https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-firefox-android-send-videos-chromecast) Having the product name in the title would be better for SEO and overall findability. This would also keep the articles from getting too long and confusing as we start documenting more of the upcoming features. Let me know if you have any thoughts. Roland and I have given ourselves reminders to update the screenshots and wording in v. 34 and beyond. Joni
This looks like the right decision - thanks for thinking that through. Totally in agreement with the approach. Thanks for all your work on this one!
Great! I have one more question: do we want to localize this article at this point?

Localize it in time for Fx 33 release (mid Oct), but it doesn't need to happen immediately.
