It would be nice to be able to change the name of an app. Use case is specifically for apps like Calculadora which have a Spanish name, but the UI is language agnostic. I'd like to change the name to Calculator.

Hi Shane, we can rename bookmarks and smart collections right now but as you said, users cannot rename apps. It could be nice so moving it to UX team. Thanks for your feedback Shane

Hi Shane, as Cristian mentioned, we currently allow bookmarks and smart collections to be renamed, I feel that renaming applications is a less common problem. Also, I'm not sure that all app developers would appreciate users changing the name of their application so I would recommend not going ahead with this feature.

Mass update: Resolve wontfix all issues with legacy homescreens.

As of 2.6 we have a new homescreen and having these issues open is confusing. All issues will block bug 1231115 so we can use that to re-visit any of these if needed.
