I need a loaner machine of type b2g_ubuntu64_vm. In order to diagnose bug 1065300 because we would like to develop a debugging tool to record tests run on try-server. Thanks.

Loaning slaves:

Hi Evan, I am going to assign this to you to keep track of the loan(s).

When you are finished with the loan(s) forever, please comment stating so and mark this bug as resolved.

By the way, now that this aws instance has been created, starting and stopping it can happen in a flash!
If you are not going to be using this machine for multiple hours, let us know in this bug and we can stop it.
Comment again when you want it started back up.
*For really fast turnaround, ping #releng (look for nick with 'buildduty')

It is really fast I could get the account.
Thanks, Justin.

And I think what we do to start and stop a server now is inefficient. Hope that we could start and stop a server by ourselves. Is it possible?

Or where could we download the image, then we could setup the environment in EC2 by ourselves.

Thanks.

I completely agree, but its not possible yet:

(I'm actually, actively, working on that)

Nice! We already have a bug for this!

Before the tool is accomplished, where could we download the image?
I think maybe some developers could setup it in EC2 by themselves if they want.

Thanks.

unfortunately the images we have are very very tightly tied to the releng network we have now (e.g. the VPC link between aws and our datacenter, specific releng systems and flows, and related ACL's) so there is no current way to extract an image we have for use in any other AWS account at this time. The current images also have some secrets (passwords, API keys, etc) that restrict us from sharing them despite the flow/ACL things.

Our loan process cleans those pieces out that we can't let loanee's have access to

Hi Justin,

Could you help to stop the server temporarily?
I will ask for your help here once I need to use the server.

Thanks.

It's 2015, so I'd like to check-in to see if you still need your loaned slave.

If yes, great, just let buildduty know when you are done.

If you no longer need the slave, comment here and then un-assign yourself from the bug. buildduty will take care of it from there.

Hi Chris,

Don't need the slave currently.

Thanks for the help.

Happy new year. :)

OK, I've terminated the instance. You can always file a request for a new one if you need it.
