1065782 - I cannot insert a link for highlighted text. There is not a paste option if I right click in box. If I type the link in, the sent message shows linked text but there is no link present. This happens in safe mode too.

Steps to reproduce:

I cannot insert a hyperlink in write window in highlighted text. I click insert>link, the window comes up, but when I try to paste the web address copied from the browser I do not have any options, paste or otherwise. If I type it in and click OK,  the compose window shows  the previously highlighted text is linked, however there is nothing attached to the link. I think it started in 31.1.0, but maybe the previous version.


Actual results:

If I manually type in a link, the sent message shows a hyperlink, but there is none. Thunderbird doesn't show any address for the hyperlink and clicking it does nothing.


Expected results:

Right clicking in the insert link box should show a paste option and clicking that should insert the copied web address for the hyperlink in the highlighted message text. The sent message hyperlink should show the web address at the bottom of Thunderbird when moused over and clicking it should open a the web page.

Yes, it's the same bug. I missed it when I searched. Thanks to Anje for the work arounds. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.
