Prerequisites: - Create a free "My Oracle Support" account over at https://profile.oracle.com/myprofile/account/create-account.jspx Steps: - Load http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/amc-download-2255283.html - Click the "Accept License Agreement" radio button - Click "JavaAMC-1_0-windows-i586.msi" - Log in with the account created on the prerequisites Result: Firefox tries to display the download instead of downloading and shows gibberish (ÐÏࡱá���������������) Expected result: "JavaAMC-1_0-windows-i586.msi" is downloaded Download works on Chromium.
This is very likely a bug on the server. The server sends the file as text/plain or text/html. It works in Chrome because Chrome is known to ignore the content-type (which violates the RFC). I can not reproduce the issue with my Seamonkey trunk build and Firefox32. Maybe Oracle fixed their server already ? Reporter: Please clear the Disk cache and try it again (ctrl+shift+del , everything, only the "cache" checkbox checked)
